About this role

Position Summary

Kuffel Law, LLC is a fast growing, highly collaborative, team-oriented firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney (5+ years) to manage a diverse caseload involving family law cases such as divorce, parentage, orders of protection and guardianship. The attorney will guide clients from intake through resolution, provide practical and compassionate counsel, and collaborate closely with supervising attorneys and support staff. Experience in or willingness to learn DCFS cases, estates/trusts/wills, and/or real estate would make a candidate more competitive.

Key Responsibilities

At Kuffel Law, we expect more than strong legal skills. We hire people who demonstrate empathy, compassion, and dedication to both our clients and our team. Our collaborative, team-first culture supports work-life balance, enabling employees to perform at their highest professional level. We invest in our people, promote from within, and provide clear goals and opportunities for growth.

Attorneys with at least five years of experience are expected to understand and manage the core responsibilities of practice, including billable requirements, litigation, discovery, legal research and writing, deadlines, and court appearances. At Kuffel Law, we also value qualities beyond these fundamentals: a strong reputation in the legal community, initiative in networking and community involvement, and the compassion necessary to serve our clients effectively. Who you are and your reputation is just as important as what you do.
