Litigation Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Witt, McGregor & Bourland, PLLC is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate Attorney to join our growing civil litigation and trial practice. This position focuses primarily on insurance defense and personal injury litigation and offers substantial opportunities for professional growth, hands-on courtroom experience, and mentorship from experienced trial attorneys.

We are looking for a motivated attorney who wants to develop into an exceptional litigator and trial lawyer. Newly licensed attorneys and attorneys with up to three years of litigation experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil litigation under attorney supervision as needed
• Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
• Analyze medical records, claims files, and other litigation materials
• Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in jury trials as both first and second chair attorney
• Develop case strategy, evaluation, and negotiation skills

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed in Texas (includes applicants who passed the July 2026 Bar Exam and will be licensed soon)
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Interest in litigation, trial advocacy, and insurance defense
• Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary ranging from $100,000 to $140,000, depending on experience
